The Abandoned Landscape Online Exhibition

Constance Lewis, Juror

Rural or urban, desert or jungle, ancient to recent. The SE Center is looking for photographers who appreciate the ravages of time and create compelling images reflecting those effects around us.

Juror Statement

The photographs in this exhibition capture poignant narratives of human presence and absence, inviting viewers to contemplate the passage of time and our connection to the spaces we inhabit. Through delicate plays of pattern, texture, light, and shadow, they evoke the haunting beauty of forgotten places and abandoned landscapes. Each photograph uncovers a fragment of untold history, inviting viewers to pause, reflect, and consider the enduring marks we leave behind. In these overlooked spaces, beauty lingers—subtle, elusive, and waiting to be found.
