iPhone Artistry: The Saga Evolves

During its 200 years of existence, Photography has always been linked to the available technology. With better sensors and computational processing, our smart phones have become indispensable capture and editing platforms. Watch Dan Burkholder reveal — and explain with zero geek-speak — the newest, exciting directions and methods.

Dan’s iPhone Artistry Presentation Highlights

  • From perfectly straight landscapes to painterly effects and portraits, learn how to steer your iPhone images in a direction that mirrors your personal vision.

  • Learn how to delve into those family history projects you’ve been putting off for years. You’ll finally turn that shoebox of tiny prints and negatives into expressive (and shareable) memories.

  • Learn the benefits of shooting both jpegs and Raw files. There’s no right or wrong in this workshop but you need to know which is right for you.

  • Learn how easy it is to blend multiple images for stunning effects, all in the palm of your hand.

  • Discover the best ways to prepare your iPhone for web, print and even book creation.

  • Experience Lightroom Mobile’s amazing editing and organizational talents.

  • Witness the importance of playfulness in your shooting and editing. Cast inhibitions to the wind.

You’ll leave this class with a renewed passion for your iPhone Photography!

About Dan

Dan Burkholder has a long history of looking beyond the photographic horizon to invent, teach and exhibit the next great thing in imaging. His book, iPhone Artistry (Pixiq Press, 2012), was the universe’s first comprehensive and fun how-to book for iPhone photographers. His poignant monograph, The Color of Loss (University of Texas Press, 2008), intimately documented the flooded interiors of post-Katrina New Orleans and was the first coffee table book photographed with HDR (high dynamic range) techniques. Dan’s seminal 1994 book Making Digital Negatives for Contact Printing opened doors for legions of photographers wishing to combine the warmth and charm of the handmade print with the control of digital imaging.

SE CENTER FOR PHOTOGRAPHY

Our workshops and expeditions cover all aspects of photography and challenge, encourage and inspire the photographer in all of us. During the workshops, our complete focus is on you, the photographer.

Our instructors are working professional photographers who have a passion for sharing and inspiring. We recognize the commitment of time, energy and money it takes for you to attend a workshop and work very hard to be the best at intimately knowing our locations, providing a wealth of high quality information via excellent presentations and one on one help in the field, presenting extremely supportive and highly detailed image reviews, and doing all of this in an energy rich, supportive environment where inspiration and having fun are the hallmark of our workshops.

SE Center Workshops fully realizes that in addition to the education business we are in the inspiration business, and ultimately, we are a service business. We are here to serve you and your complete satisfaction with your workshop experience is our pledge. After all, the majority of our workshop participants are repeat customers and we know as well as anyone that we only get one chance to make a memorable first impression.

When we publish a workshop cost it includes everything. We won't surprise you with additional Materials Costs or Model Fees. If the workshop is all day at the SE Center, we provide lunch, snacks and beverages. Before you register you know the true cost of our workshops.
