Do you long to take your editing to the next level? But creating with color is where you’re stuck? Maybe your black and white images come out flat and lack contrast. Do you find yourself in Lightroom and have no clue how to add emotion with your sliders? I’ve been there! I know how frustrating this can be, let me help you. I will teach you about my years of studying color. We take a step back in time and study the masters, discovering what they have to teach us about color harmony and symbolism—information that can be applied to fine-art imagery, commercial photographs that showcase brands, and everything in between. We examine color as light and learn how to find color in the shadows, addressing color grading and why it’s important. We will spend three full weeks exploring color and how it’s connected to emotion. Learn to create black and white images through the study of color. And so much more!. 

About April

April is a retired military wife and homeschooling mom of two wild boys. April is not afraid to go out and try something new, even if she fails. She’s still won because she didn’t let fear stop her. April is human; she makes mistakes; she is perfectly imperfect; she is saved by grace. Her saying this year is, “don’t feed the fears.”

As with almost everything else that touches her life, April is rarely satisfied with only taking on hobbies and doing things for fun. She can’t learn just the basics of something and move on, April has to fully immerse herself and know the art form inside and out. So after the spark of photography was re-ignited, April studied and completed the photography course offered at the New York Institute of Photography (NYIP). Since then she has gone off on so many rabbit trails, April never knows what path she will take next.  All of the trails she goes down have their own set of artistic challenges, some more than others. April’s life journey, and the lessons she learns along the way, are what continually draw her in. It is the not knowing what there is to see that takes April down the next trail.

When we publish a workshop cost it includes everything. We won't surprise you with additional Materials Costs or Model Fees. If the workshop is all day at the SE Center, we provide lunch, snacks and beverages. Before you register you know the true cost of our workshops.
